Return to Wonder
Beauty and Belonging in Bali
You’re invited to Ubud to join Tate Sutton for a women’s wellness retreat on the sacred island of Bali, Indonesia, from April 11-17, 2027. Together we will journey through the Island of the Gods, guided by lived experience, sacred tradition, and the beauty of slowing down.

A Sacred Return
Bali changed my life long before I ever imagined leading retreats.
While serving in Peace Corps Indonesia, I spent time immersed in the language, culture, and daily rhythms of life. During that time, Bali became a place of restoration, adventure, spiritual curiosity, and deep connection.
This retreat is my invitation to share that experience with you.
We’ll explore ancient temples, practice yoga surrounded by jungle and rice fields, experience traditional Balinese culture, enjoy beautiful meals, spend time at the ocean, and embrace the slower pace that makes Bali so special.
This isn’t about checking destinations off a list.
It’s about experiencing Bali through the eyes of someone who genuinely loves Indonesia.
Bali isn’t just a place I’ve visited; it’s somewhere that helped shape who I am.
This retreat is an invitation to experience the Indonesia I fell in love with, through sacred traditions, meaningful connection, and unforgettable adventure.

What makes this retreat so special?
- Experience Bali with a host who lived in Indonesia as a Peace Corps volunteer
- Participate respectfully in sacred temple traditions and a Balinese water purification ceremony
- Stay in a private luxury villa surrounded by jungle and rice terraces
- Enjoy daily yoga, meditation, Pilates, breathwork, and guided reflection

Bali teaches us that beauty can be a daily practice, devotion can be joyful, and wonder can be found everywhere.

Slow down long enough to notice what has been waiting for you.

MEET YOUR RETREAT HOST:

Health and Wellness Innovator
photo taken during Peace Corps service 2014
Hi, I’m Tate, your host for Sacred Retreats Bali. Years before leading retreats around the world, I lived in Java, Indonesia as a Peace Corps volunteer, spending my time fully immersed in the language, culture, and rhythms of daily life.
During that time, Bali became a place of restoration, adventure, curiosity, and connection. It was where I first learned to surf, wandered temple grounds at sunrise and sunset, shared meals with new friends, played with monkeys, and experienced a way of life that continues to inspire me today.
This retreat is my invitation to share the Bali that captured my heart, not as a tourist destination, but as a place rich with beauty, tradition, spirituality, and wonder.
Together we’ll explore sacred temples, experience meaningful cultural traditions, enjoy incredible food, spend time in nature, and embrace the slower pace that makes Bali so special.
I can’t wait to share this extraordinary place with you.

In Bali, beauty isn’t reserved for special occasions. It is woven into everyday life.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: Where is the retreat located?
Our retreat takes place in Ubud on the island of Bali in Indonesia. You’ll stay in luxury jungle accommodations nestled amongst the rice terrace. Our exact address will be provided to you before travel.
Q: What makes this retreat different from other retreats?
This retreat is inspired by Tate’s personal connection to Indonesia through her time living and serving there as a Peace Corps volunteer. Rather than simply visiting Bali, guests will experience the culture, traditions, food, and spirituality that have made this island such a meaningful place in her life.
Q: What airport should I fly into?
We recommend flying into I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, Bali (DPS). Airport transfer details will be provided after registration. We provide round trip transport to and from the airport. Pickup is April 11th and dropoff is April 17th. Guests will receive the recommended arrival and departure windows before booking airfare. Round-trip group transportation between DPS airport and the retreat villa is included for guests arriving within the designated transfer window.
Q: What’s included in the retreat package?
Your experience includes 6 nights of beautiful accommodations, twice-daily yoga and movement practices, guided sunrise meditations, sacred rituals and nature connections, and immersive excursions. All scheduled group transportation and thoughtful touches throughout the retreat — including welcome gifts and surprises — are also included.
Q: What’s not included?
Airfare is not included in the retreat price. You’ll also be responsible for your own travel insurance (which we highly recommend), any spa treatments or personal shopping, and any snacks, beverages, or meals outside of our planned offerings.
Q: Do I need to be good at yoga or meditation to attend?
Not at all. This retreat is open to all levels — whether you’re new to these practices or have years of experience. You’ll be supported to move at your own pace and connect to your body and breath in a way that feels intuitive and safe.
Q: Can I come alone?
Yes, and we welcome it! Many of our guests come solo and find it to be one of the most empowering, connective, and fulfilling experiences. You’ll feel a part of the community from the very beginning.
Q: Is Bali safe for solo travelers?
Bali is one of the most welcoming destinations in the world for solo travelers. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be supported by Tate and the retreat community.
Q: Will we visit temples?
Yes. Visiting sacred temples and learning about Balinese traditions is one of the highlights of this retreat. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in a traditional water purification ceremony and experience Bali’s unique spiritual heritage in a respectful and meaningful way.
Q: Will we have free time?
Absolutely. While we’ll enjoy a variety of excursions and cultural experiences throughout the week, there will also be ample time to relax by the pool, receive spa treatments, journal, explore nearby cafés, or simply enjoy the beauty of Bali.
Q: What’s the food like?
You’ll be nourished with vibrant, locally sourced Balinese-inspired cuisine, including plant-forward dishes, fresh tropical fruit, vegetables, seafood, chicken, eggs, and traditional island flavors. We’re happy to accommodate dietary preferences and restrictions with advance notice.
Q: What’s the daily schedule like?
Our days flow with a gentle, balanced rhythm. Mornings begin with meditation and movement, followed by time for nourishment and reflection. Afternoons include workshops, rest, or excursions, and evenings close with connection, ceremony, or stillness. You’ll receive a full tentative itinerary after booking.
Q: How do I reserve my spot?
Simply click the “Reserve Here” button and submit your deposit. Space is intentionally limited to keep this experience intimate and impactful.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Your $750 deposit holds your space and is non-refundable, due to the limited group size and advance commitments made to our retreat partners.
If you need to cancel before January 11, 2027, you may transfer your booking to another guest or receive retreat credit (minus your deposit) for a future offering. If you cancel after January 11, 2027, we are unable to offer refunds or credits. We encourage travel insurance that includes trip cancellation coverage to protect your payment.
